5 Days Hunza Valley Tour from Islamabad
Two full days in the valley, with Attabad, Passu and the Karimabad forts.

The greenest valley and the shortest drive — Kalam, Mahodand and Malam Jabba.
Swat is the shortest drive of any of the big northern valleys — five hours from Islamabad on motorway most of the way — and the greenest. This trip runs the length of it: Mingora, Bahrain, Kalam, a jeep day up the Ushu valley to Mahodand Lake, and Malam Jabba on the way home.
It is the best all-season northern trip we sell. Summer is lush, autumn is quiet, and in December and January Malam Jabba and Kalam are under snow while Mahodand is closed.
Four days is the right length. Three works if you skip Mahodand, which we would not.
Every day states its route, its driving hours and its altitude, so nothing about this trip is a surprise on the road.
Islamabad → Mingora → Madyan → Bahrain → Kalam
Motorway to Mingora, then the Swat river road through Madyan and Bahrain to Kalam. Evening free by the river.
Kalam → Ushu → Matiltan → Mahodand → Kalam
Jeeps up the Ushu valley through the pine forest to Mahodand Lake, with Falak Sar at 5,918 m behind it. Boating and trout lunch at the lake, back to Kalam in the evening.
Note The Mahodand track is rough and jeep-only, around 90 minutes each way. Jeeps are included in your price.
Kalam → Bahrain → Malam Jabba
Down the valley and up to Malam Jabba for the chairlift, the zipline and the views across Swat. In winter this is the ski day.
Malam Jabba → Mingora → Islamabad
A morning at Malam Jabba, then home via Mingora and the motorway. Arrival in Islamabad by early evening.

Yes. Swat has been stable for well over a decade and is one of the most visited domestic destinations in Pakistan. There are routine checkposts on the main road where you show CNIC.
No. The Ushu valley track is closed by snow roughly November to April. Winter departures replace it with a longer Malam Jabba stay.
In season, yes — usually January and February. Equipment hire and lift passes are available at the resort and are not included in the package price.
Five to six hours to Mingora on motorway, then two and a half more to Kalam on mountain road. It is the easiest northern trip to reach.
Very. Short drives, a lot of green, boating at Mahodand and a chairlift at Malam Jabba. It competes with Naran as our best family introduction.
